Take the lead in ensuring financial integrity, enhancing process efficiency and driving innovative accounting and tax solutions. We are looking for someone to shape compliance excellence and drive standardization across our Middle Africa countries; in this role, you will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and local filings, strengthen treasury and cash management  while building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will serve as a technical ambassador for continuous improvements across our Middle Africa countries while leading complex projects and contributing to the functional excellence as a member of the regional Accounting & Tax CoE.

 

Your new role

 

You will act as the Senior Accounting & Tax Lead for the Middle Africa countries. Based in Kenya, you are responsible for the local financial records and accounting and tax compliances. You coordinate routine and operational executions with our Global Business Services (GBS) team, while focusing on process optimization, leading complex projects and specialized functional competency area(s) across business areas. You will directly report to Accounting and Tax CoE Director for the region, with a dotted reporting line to the local Head of Finance and Operations.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee general accounting and tax compliances and processes for Middle Africa countries, including GBS's support activities (e.g. closing period, reconciliations, invoice processing and payments)
  • Treasury and cash management - cashflow forecasting, managing cash balance, bank account oversight, and corporate credit card processes
  • Provide expert functional support and training to local stakeholders and the GBS team
  • Act as a partner to the business to ensure correct postings, management reporting alignment.

 

Your new department

You will join the Accounting & Tax Centre of Excellence covering BAMECA (Business Area Middle East and Central Asia) & BAAF (Business Area Africa). Our CoE, is a strategic pillar that supports the regional operations while ensuring compliance, transparency, and continuous improvement in the functional space. You will work closely with local leadership, GBS teams, finance partners and external advisors to deliver accurate financials and efficient processes.

 

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who has:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in technical accounting, tax and/or audit roles. Demonstrated expertise in coordinating a shared service center model and successfully transitioning transactional work.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory reporting, tax compliance (VAT, WHT, CIT) and IFRS practicalities.
  • Practical treasury experience: cashflow forecasting, bank reconciliations and bank relationship handling.
  • Excellent communication skills, maturity in navigating complex dotted-line/matrix reporting structures, ability to work independently, and to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
