About the department
The Market Access & Corporate Affairs Department aims to
position Novo Nordisk as a trusted partner, collaborating with
key external stakeholders to achieve the following goals,
intended to benefit patients in Vietnam and expand access to
Novo Nordisk's portfolio by:

Advocating for policies that promote sustainable,
long-term development of the healthcare industry in Vietnam
and establish a predictable environment for Novo Nordisk

Developing and implementing policies and procedural
changes to enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes in
the areas of obesity, diabetes, and other serious chronic diseases
-
Improving access to Novo Nordisk innovations through
competitive market access strategies
-
Establishing meaningful partnerships with various
stakeholder groups to support local healthcare systems and
vulnerable patient populations
-
Strengthening public awareness and advancing Novo
Nordisk's external communication objectives

Key responsibilities
This role requires up to 50% of travel requirements,
depending on the business needs. The candidate location can be
preferrably HCM City, but also open to consider candidates
located in Hanoi.
Market & Patient Access
-
Provide leadership in developing and implementing the
strategic affiliate market access and government affairs
plans, creating supportive HE value documentation and aiding
tools for use in their Pricing and Reimbursement (P&R) and
Formulary works (national payer levels).

Design and implement local cross-functional market access
and value communication strategies in full alignment with
strategic priorities, to enhance inclusion and sustainable
access to in-line and pipeline Novo Nordisk portfolio.

Spearhead initiatives to improve access to care for
patients in vulnerable populations
Government Affairs
-
Prepare, advise on, and execute government affairs
strategy and stakeholder engagement plans.
-
Proactively anticipate, mitigate, and implement proactive
solutions for external affairs issues that may pose short- and
long-term challenges for Novo Nordisk and the therapy areas in
which we operate in

Develop and maintain appropriate information gathering on
all competitive activities and healthcare reform trends,
ensuring communication of these to relevant stakeholders
within the organization.
Policy & Advocacy
-
Shaping local market environment by working with a range
of stakeholders including national/regional payers, KOLs,
policy holders, and media
-
Develops sustainable, long-term alliances and mutually
beneficial coalitions that run independently of Novo Nordisk
with key stakeholders including industry, academia, KOLs,
payers to shape our environment
-
Promotes portfolio thinking and identifies synergies
between therapy areas to optimize policy opportunities;
Responsible for establishing Value at Stake analysis, and
priorities external issues and opportunities.

Builds an internal environment where partnerships with
external stakeholders are expected and valued to achieve
strategic goals.; Ensures that the importance of patient voice
in external discussions is understood internally.

Identifies and shares best practice from other countries,
therapy areas and industries.

Monitor external trends, identify risks and opportunities,
and recommend strategic response actions to assist patient
access and public affairs goals and develop and sustain
collaborations and partnerships with Southeast Asia (BASEA)
and critical functional areas within own affiliate (Marketing,
Sales, Clinical, Medical & Regulatory)
Corporate Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability
-
Represent Novo Nordisk at key external events which may
include government or industry related activities.

Proactively identifying any potential business threats and
opportunities and developing corresponding action and
communication plans, including crisis communications
-
Leads and drives implementation of external communication
strategy, supporting Novo Nordisk corporate and therapy area objectives
-
Oversee external communications channels and working with
APAC Corporate affairs and Vietnam communications team to
manage media engagement and share coverage.

Leading media training and coaching of key spokespeople
and the Vietnam and overseeing the implementation of global
communication programs across the organization in line with
business need.

Leading the Driving Change strategy and program
implementation across the business unit and management team
Member of NNVN Leadership team
-
Integral member of the leadership team, role models the
Novo Nordisk Way and collaborates effectively
cross-functionally to drive NNVN mid to long-term strategy

Keeps patient and customers at the forefront, exhibits
growth mindset, strives for ambitious results, drives
accountability, and ensures collaboration at all levels
-
Creating a 3-5-year strategic corporate affairs plan for
the affiliate that aligns functional objectives with
affiliate, regional and global direction; Provide strategic
counsel to the executive leadership team on communication
matters and reputation management;

Acts as a strategic advisor to Leadership Team on policy
issues related to current and future portfolio; Identifying
initiatives of other affiliates and Business Areas that could
contribute to the affiliate development; Setting standards in
the local affiliate by challenging and contributing to the
Management Team and/or Cross functional/therapy teams

Passionate in developing team of direct reports by setting
annual objectives, providing coaching, recognition, and career
development support.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in the related field of
market access, corporate affairs, communication, public
affairs with proven track record.
-
Min. 3-5 years of people management experience will be preferred.
-
Business Unit (sales, marketing, market development,
national key account) experience is a plus
-
Strongly established networks with relevant government
institutions would be added advantage.
-
Relevant experiences in global pharma and/or multinational
companies are required.
-
Public administration, social policy, business
administration, communications, or life sciences degree preferred.
-
In-depth understanding of corporate and health care
system, its policy and the key stakeholders and opinion
leaders is required.
-
Proven ability to analyze, recommend, lead and implement
strategies, projects and initiatives cross-functionally is expected.
