Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular Risk

If you have type 2 diabetes, you are at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease than people without diabetes. Cardiovascular disease refers to all of the diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels.

Due to this increased risk, people with diabetes are 2-6 times more likely to die from cardiovascular disease compared to people without type 2 diabetes.
