Novo Nordisk wins Best Workplaces UK special award for Corporate Responsibility
London UK, Novo Nordisk, the leading diabetes healthcare company, has won the 2008 UK Special Award for Corporate Responsibility, given by Great Place to Work Institute UK and AccountAbility.
Novo Nordisk's innovative "triple bottom line" commitment sees financial, social and environmental responsibilities given equal weighting. This formal commitment to sustainable development and balanced growth has been built into corporate governance structures, management tools and individual performance assessments.
As part of its commitment to the triple bottom line, the company is committed to pursuing its business goals as a profitable enterprise and in a way that is socially and environmentally responsible. The company subscribes to the International Chamber of Commerce's Business Charter for Sustainable Development.

Novo Nordisk is a member of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Climate Savers programme, which invites leading global businesses to demonstrate that investing in emission reduction options can benefit the long-term health of a business.
Novo Nordisk also came fifth overall Best Workplace in UK and runner up in the Best ‘My Work Has Special Meaning’ award category. The company was rated the highest of all pharmaceutical businesses.
