Treating factor VII deficiency

Factor VII deficiency can be described as mild, moderate or severe, depending on how much factor VII their bodies are able to produce. People with mild and moderate deficiency don’t usually require any treatment unless they are undergoing surgery. Patients with severe deficiency may bleed spontaneously and require replacement therapy with plasma-derived factor VII or recombinant factor VIIa.
