Clinical research

Before any medicine is available for doctors to prescribe, it must be granted a license by the government. Therefore, all medicines have to be tested in appropriate patients to ensure that they reach the standards of safety and efficacy required by governmental agencies around the world. This is achieved by conducting clinical trials in which patients freely volunteer to try new medicines so that relevant data can be obtained.
