Mixtard^® 30 will be discontinued in the UK from December 31st 2010.

The following Mixtard^® 30 presentations will be discontinued:

-Mixtard^® 30 Penfill^® 3ml cartridges

-Mixtard^® 30 InnoLet^®

-Mixtard^® 30 10ml vials

For Patients:

There are several other insulin treatments available for patients currently using Mixtard^® 30. Your GP, hospital consultant, practice nurse or diabetes specialist nurse can discuss these options with you to help you decide which option is best for you.

To make sure that you are changed to an alternative insulin treatment before the discontinuation of Mixtard^® 30, please make an appointment to see your GP or your practice nurse to discuss your treatment options.

If this information affects you or a member of your family, please arrange to see your GP or practice nurse to find out about the choices available and to get advice on what to do.

It is important that in the first instance you contact your GP or practice nurse as soon as you can to make sure you are changed to another treatment before the 31st December 2010, when Mixtard^® 30 will no longer be available.
